DIGNIFIED REPRESENTATION OF THE AGENCY IN THE SKOPJE WORKSHOP

Under the organization of the Ministry for Internal Affairs and Directorate for Personal Data Protection of Macedonia, on 24 and 25 February 2015, a workshop regarding the Protection of Personal Data of the foreign citizens, including asylum seekers was organized.
The purpose of this event was improvement of knowledge on Common European Asylum System and at the same time increase of awareness regarding the requirements related to data protection.
In order to benefit from the expertise of representatives of the European countries, were invited representatives from the security sector of the countries in the region, such as: Albania, Kosovo, Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia and Serbia.
Besides first day agenda, during which experts from Belgium, Poland, Austria, Germany, Czech Republic and Bulgaria presented their presentations, on the second day of the agenda it was foreseen presentation of representatives from the countries in the region, where three institutions represented Kosovo: National Agency for Protection of Personal Data, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Kosovo Police.
A dignified presentation on protection of personal data of foreigners in the Republic of Kosovo, was presented in front of the participants from Mr. Jeton Arifi, Director of the Registration Department and Foreign Relation, who unveiled the action line of processing and protection of personal data of foreigners by the security institutions, respectively, by the Kosovo Police, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and by the Agency, highlighting the role of each institution within the chain of processing of data of this category.
