The Agency Organized a Two-day Seminar for Around 50 Data Protection Officers

Supported by the EU Office in Kosovo, respectively the IPA project, the National Agency for Protection of Personal Data organized a seminar in two consecutive days for about 50 protection officers of public and private institutions.
Opening of the seminar and chairing of discussions was made by Mr. Jeton Arifi, Director of Department  for Foreign Relations, whereas the lecturer as the foreign expert on the topics on the role and responsibilities of protection officer was Ms. Rosana Lemut-Strle, former Deputy Commissioner for Information of Slovenian counterpart authority.
Program of the seminar with training character was divided into two days. On the first day attended 26 officers mainly from public institutions, while on the second day were 22 officials, mainly from the public sector, respectively from banking institutions.
Besides lectures on specially selected topics in order to interpret the specific tasks of the protection officers within the institutions where they work and in relation to the National Agency for Protection of Personal Data, the frequent questions and discussions of the followers of this seminar gave an interactive approach to the works.
In the end, Mr. Arifi thanked the attendees for their participation and the Office of the EU for continuous support giving the Agency in building of internal and external capacities, promising to protection officials that the authority that he represents highly appreciates the role of each of them, therefore will be continuously invested in the development of their capacities, so that through them, the Law on Protection of Personal Data to be directly applicable within the institutions where they work.
