On the occasion of promoting the Manual on Video Surveillance Criteria in Educational Institutions, the National Agency for Protection of Personal Data, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and with the support of OSCE, today organized a press conference with representatives of electronic and printed media.
During this conference, the Chief National Supervisor of the National Agency for Personal Data Protection Mr. Ruzhdi Jashari addressed a brief speech, who, besides the expressed gratitude to all those who contributed in drafting this manual, emphasized his expectation that this manual shall serve that the video surveillance system be applied in accordance with the Law on Protection of Personal Data.
As part of this promotion a brief speech was also delivered by Mr. Azem Guri, Political Adviser to the Minister of Education who, inter alia, expressed the willingness of the Ministry of Education to support in the future projects of the Agency related to education.
In order to inform the participants in details about the idea, the development process of this project until its publication, in the capacity of moderator of the conference as well being the person in charge of this project, spoke Mr. Jeton Arifi, Director of International Relations at NAPDP. Moreover, he estimated that after the distribution of this guide in preschool and educational institutions of all levels, as well as those of higher education, the number of complaints for privacy breach will be reduced which derive as a result of applications that lack the criteria of security video surveillance.
