Training for State Prosecutors on the Personal Data Protection

With the support from the OSCE, the National Agency for Protection of Personal Data organized training for state prosecutors and officials from prosecuting bodies.
By a welcoming remark, Mr. Rushdi Jashari, Chief National Supervisor, opened the meeting, by thanking the participants for their interest in implementing the Law on the Protection of Personal Data.
The representative of the OSCE, Mr. Peter Welling, , among others, stressed that access to unprotected public data may cause overall consequences, especially in personal lives of individuals. In addition, Mr. Welling noted that personal data protection is the only area for which the prosecution has shown a particular interest. According to him, all of this is thanks to the National Agency for Protection of Personal Data, which is making continuous efforts to expand its influence in all areas of public and private institutions.
Mr. Mentor Hoxha, National Supervisor and lecturer of this training presented to the participants the Agency as an institution exclusively mandated by the Assembly of Kosova for the protection of personal data, focusing on the legitimacy of personal data processing in the Republic of Kosovo.
