This two-day meeting addressed high-level topics related to data protection at the European level, including: the new anti-money laundering regulation, updated procedures for the implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), inter-institutional cooperation, and the impact of artificial intelligence on privacy.
The Agency’s participation in the work of the EDPB is of particular importance for Kosovo, as this board leads the development of European policies in the field of privacy and personal data protection. Such involvement contributes to the harmonization of Kosovo’s legislation with EU standards, strengthens the country’s institutional capacities to actively engage in European data protection networks, and creates new opportunities for cooperation with European counterpart authorities.
Engagement in high-level meetings of this nature represents a concrete step towards European integration and the enhanced protection of citizens’ rights in the digital age.
