The Information and Privacy Agency, in cooperation with the CiviKos Platform and the Institute for Technology and Society, continued the series of Regional Information Sessions on personal data protection, this time in the Municipality of South Mitrovica, gathering representatives from local public institutions, civil society organizations, and businesses from the region.
The aim of this session was to strengthen practical knowledge for implementing legal obligations, as well as to enhance institutional capacities for privacy protection at the local level. Participants were informed about:
Legal responsibilities regarding the processing of personal data in the public and private sectors; The role of Data Protection Officers within relevant institutions and organizations; The impact of technology on information security and the challenges posed in the digital era; Practical field-based examples and challenges in applying the law in the local context.
These sessions are being held within the project “Strengthening Personal Data Protection and Cybersecurity Across All Sectors in Kosovo,” supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Kosovo.
