Krenare Sogojeva Dërmaku

Born in 1981, in Prishtina. A graduated lawyer from the Faculty of Law of the University of Prishtina. Advanced studies in European Law at the European College of Parma, Italy. A study program for public officials at the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna, Austria. Short-term education in the security and defense sector in Germany, Turkey, and the USA.

Work experience in the NGO ‘Solutions’ – researcher in the project ‘Standards before the status of Kosovo’; Council for the Protection of Human Rights and Freedoms, monitor of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, and the Municipal Assembly of Prishtina, and officer in the project for monitoring the parliamentary elections in Kosovo; WUS Austria – a Project Coordinator of the project ‘Balkan Case Challenges’ – a student competition at the local and regional level. Internship with the International Department of the Student Union of the University of Vienna.

Professional experience in the Office of the Prime Minister – Senior Legal Officer in the Legal Office, then Coordinator of the Legislative Roundtable in the Coordination Secretariat of the Government. Whereas, since December 2008, for thirteen years in a row, respectively, until the appointment as Information and Privacy Commissioner, she has been the Director of the Legal Department at the Ministry of Defense.

She is married with two children.
