The Agency for Information and Privacy (IPA), on 10.03.2022, has received information that the Municipality of Podujeva has published for a long time lists of personal data of data subjects (citizens), who have received subsidies, covering the period from 2017 to 2022, on its official website (internet).
After the completion of the inspection procedures, IPA has ascertained that the Municipality of Podujeva has published lists with data of entities. These lists have contained personal data such as name, surname, personal number, telephone number, place of residence, and the amount received. Through the publication of these data, it has processed personal data in violation of Article 4 and 5 of Law no. 06 / L-082 on Personal Data Protection and, thus, violated Article 92, paragraph 1 of Law no. 06 / L-082 on Personal Data Protection.
Therefore, the Agency for Information and Privacy, with the decision no. 73/22, dated 23.03.2022, has imposed a minor fine against the Municipality of Podujeva for illegal processing of personal data.
In this case, AIP calls on all controllers (public and private) to process personal data legally, otherwise, the Agency for Information and Privacy, based on legal competencies is obliged to take action and appropriate measures up to the imposition of fines for non-compliance with the provisions provided by law.
