The Information and Privacy Agency held an informative meeting with the Ministry of Justice and the executive agencies of the MoJ

The topics of discussion were the responsibilities of the controller, the Ministry of Justice and the executive agencies of the MoD regarding the obligations arising from the Law on Protection of Personal Data and the Law on Access to Public Documents, in particular the legal obligations of the Chief Administrative Officer, the Responsible Officer for Personal Data Protection and the Officer responsible for Access to Public Documents.
The participants asked a series of questions from the scope of institutions related to the processing of data that they carry out during the exercise of their mandate and function. For all questions, the representatives of the Agency informed the participants in detail about the legality of data processing, the principles of data processing, the application of security measures, the rights of the data subject, as well as about the physical security of the data.
In the focus of the discussions was also the implementation of the legislation for Access to Public Documents, such as the review of requests for access, the level of competence, the publication of documents at the initiative of public institutions, procedural aspects up to decision-making, where, among other things, the competences that have Agency in the supervision of the implementation of the relevant law.
