The Information and Privacy Agency (AIP), upon receiving media reports regarding suspicions about the installation of an illegal camera at the “Astrit Bytyqi” Primary School in Ferizaj, immediately took the necessary steps to inspect and verify the factual situation in this educational institution.

During the inspection conducted by AIP, it was determined that no surveillance cameras had been installed in the school premises – classrooms. However, a recording was identified, made by a school employee using his personal phone. This recording was made at a time when children were not present in the classroom, and consequently, no processing of students’ personal data took place.
In this context, AIP emphasizes the importance of complying with Law No. 06/L-082 on the Protection of Personal Data and reminds all public and private institutions of their legal obligations regarding the processing of personal data. Any action involving the processing of personal data must be in accordance with the applicable legal provisions.
AIP will continue to monitor and handle with seriousness all cases related to the protection of personal data and citizens’ privacy.
