The Agency for Information and Privacy Participates in the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 in Barcelona

The Commissioner for Information and Privacy, Ms. Krenare Sogojeva-Dërmaku, along with representatives from the Agency for Information and Privacy (AIP), participated in the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025, one of the world’s most significant global events for innovation in mobile and digital technology, organized by GSMA in Barcelona, Spain.
As part of the MWC Ministerial Program, Commissioner Sogojeva-Dërmaku participated in a roundtable discussion titled “Ensuring Data Privacy for the Future,” where she discussed the new challenges brought by Artificial Intelligence and the global interconnection of personal data, emphasizing the need for regulatory mechanisms that protect citizens’ rights without limiting technological advancements.🔐
🤖The event was attended by around 100,000 participants from 205 countries and over 2,700 exhibiting companies. The main theme of this edition, “Converge. Connect. Create.” focused on six key pillars:
• 5G technology and its latest applications
• Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its impact on various industries
• Digital interconnection of devices and services
• Innovations transforming economic sectors
• The evolution of digital identity
• Business perspectives in the digital age
