Informative meetings with the Mayor of the Municipality of Prizren and the Mayor of the Municipality of Dragash

In the wake of the informative meetings for the promotion of the right to the protection of personal data and for access to public documents at the local level, the Commissioner for Information and Privacy, Krenare Sogojeva Dermaku, today held two separate meetings with the Mayor of the Municipality of Dragash, Bexhet Xheladini, and the Mayor of the Municipality of Prizren, Shaqir Totaj.

The Commissioner discussed the importance of drafting Privacy Policies, the drafting of internal Regulations for security measures during the processing of personal data, as well as the anonymization of personal data during the publication of documents produced by the Municipality. In addition, the Commissioner also spoke about the Transparency Program, which, in addition to promoting the self-initiated publication of public documents, will also serve to strengthen transparency and accountability to citizens.

With particular emphasis, the Commissioner discussed the importance of strengthening the officials responsible for the protection of personal data and for access to public documents, so that they serve as guarantors for the full implementation of relevant legislation by the Municipalities.
