Agency Closes Information Week Activities

In the period from 28 September to 1 October 2021, the Agency for Information and Privacy, in close partnership with representatives of civil society, has carried out  various field activities of informative character about the right of access to public documents.

By establishing for the first time the tradition of marking the International Day for Universal Access to Information in our country, the Agency, on 28 September 2021 had started its four-day activities by organizing a roundtable discussion with representatives from civil society, the Journalism Community, the Assembly, The Ombudsman Institution, the Council of Europe and the German organization GIZ.

On the same day and for the next three days in a row, AIP employees and representatives of non-governmental organizations (FOL, BIRN, IKD, INPO, Syri i Vizionit, Ec ma Ndryshe, CBM, YMCA, CIVIKOS, KCIC) conducted promotional activities with citizens regarding their rights to access public documents, conducting, at the same time, a survey about their knowledge of this right in the capital city and the other six largest cities of the country.

The Commissioner Mrs. Krenare Sogojeva Dërmaku, during the closing of the roundtable on September 28 rightly stated that it will now be easier for the citizens, as the slogan of the recently completed information week was named.
