The Commissioner for Information and Privacy held a collaborative meeting with the Chair of the U.S. Federal Trade Commission.

During her participation at the Global Privacy Summit 2025, organized by IAPP in Washington D.C., the Commissioner for Information and Privacy, Ms. Krenare Sogojeva-Dërmaku, held a special meeting with Mr. Andrew N. Ferguson, Chair of the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC).

During the meeting, they discussed the challenges posed by the development of advanced technologies, the work of the Agency for Information and Privacy in strengthening data protection in Kosovo, as well as the crucial role of the FTC in supervising and enforcing consumer privacy standards in the United States.

Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of international cooperation towards harmonizing the legal and regulatory framework, in line with the objectives of the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which aims to strengthen data protection standards in transatlantic data transfers.
