The Agency for Information and Privacy today held two separate meetings with the Mayor of the Municipality of Vitia and the Mayor of the Municipality of Kacaniku.

The Commissioner of the Information and Privacy Agency, Krenare Sogojeva Dërmaku, held two separate meetings with the Mayor of the Municipality of Vitia – Sokol Haliti and the Mayor of the Municipality of Kacaniku – Besim Ilazi, in order to inform about the legal principles for the protection of personal data and access to public documents.

The Commissioner discussed the Transparency Program, which aims to facilitate the proactive publication of public documents of the Municipality, on the one hand, and on the other hand, to increase transparency and institutional accountability. Among other things, she emphasized the importance of anonymizing personal data during the publication of public documents.

With particular emphasis, the drafting of Privacy Policies and the drafting of internal regulations for the security of personal data processing by the Municipality were also discussed. The commissioner called for strengthening the position of the officials responsible for access to public documents and protection of personal data, who guarantee the full implementation of these two rights, especially during the process of digitization of services for citizens.
