The Agency for Information and Privacy today held an informative meeting with the Mayor of the Municipality of Pristina.

The Commissioner of the Information and Privacy Agency, Krenare Sogojeva Dërmaku, was welcomed today in a meeting by the Mayor of Pristina, Përparim Rama and his colleagues, where she discussed the legal principles for the protection of personal data and access to public documents .

The Transparency Program was discussed at the meeting, which aims at the proactive publication of public documents produced by the Municipality, as a main element of transparency and institutional accountability. In this context, the Commissioner stressed the importance of balancing transparency and protection of personal data, where she discussed with particular emphasis the anonymization of personal data during the publication of documents.

Among other things, the drafting of Privacy Policies and the issuance of an internal act for the security of personal data processing by the Municipality were also discussed. The commissioner called for the strengthening and training of officials responsible for access to public documents and protection of personal data, who guarantee the full implementation of these two rights of citizens, especially during the process of digitization of services.
