Kosovo at the European Data Protection Board with Representation by the Commissioner for Information and Privacy

The Commissioner for Information and Privacy, Ms. Krenare Sogojeva Dërmaku, is participating in the plenary meeting of the European Data Protection Board (EDPB), taking place from December 2 to 3 in Brussels. This follows Kosovo’s acceptance as an observer member in EDPB activities in October of this year.
The EDPB is the European Union’s principal body overseeing and coordinating the implementation of the highest standards of personal data protection. The agenda of this meeting includes key topics such as: guidelines for the implementation of the GDPR, certification standards, international transfers of personal data, and the protection of children in the digital age.
The Agency’s observer membership in the EDPB strengthens data protection capacities, aligns domestic legislation with European standards, and fosters collaborative networks with peer authorities in the European Union. Therefore, Commissioner Sogojeva Dërmaku’s participation in this meeting serves to advance Kosovo’s legal and institutional framework for personal data protection while also reinforcing Kosovo’s role in European discussions on personal data protection and human rights.
