“The right to private and family life and the concept of negative and positive obligations of the state under the European Convention on Human Rights” were the main topics in the two-day training organized by the Office of the Council of Europe in Kosovo in support of the Constitutional Court of Kosovo.

🔐Inspectors of the Information and Privacy Agency contributed to the training with their expertise in personal data protection issues and trends in Kosovo. Discussions included challenges and advances in the implementation of the Personal Data Protection Law, new technologies that affect citizens’ privacy, and effective oversight mechanisms for the protection of personal data.
Other important topics that were addressed were:
✅Surveillance of telecommunications and digital communication in a criminal context
✅Analysis of ECtHR jurisprudence regarding data collection (including covert surveillance), storage and disclosure by state authorities
✅Reproductive rights and the right to access personal information, including “health data”
✅Use of personal data as “evidence” in criminal proceedings
The training was characterized by the participation of international experts in the field, engaged within the project “Support for the Constitutional Court in the Implementation and Dissemination of European Human Rights Standards”.
