The Director of the Croatian Agency for Personal Data Protection at the same time the Deputy Chair of the European Data Protection Board (EDPB), Mr. Zdravko Vukić, is on an official visit to Kosovo.

The visit aims to strengthen Kosovo’s international cooperation in the field of personal data protection. Invited by the Commissioner for Information and Privacy, Ms. Krenare Sogojeva Dërmaku, a delegation from the Croatian Agency for Personal Data Protection, led by Mr. Zdravko Vukić, is conducting an official visit to Kosovo.
The Croatian delegation was welcomed by Commissioner Sogojeva Dërmaku and Agency staff. During the visit, the two counterpart authorities discussed concrete actions to enhance sustainable cooperation, capacity development, and Kosovo’s international representation in key structures for personal data protection.
Throughout the visit, the delegation held separate meetings with the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Glauk Konjufca, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Ms. Donika Gërvalla-Schwarz, as well as the Security and Defense Committee, chaired by the First Deputy Speaker, Mr. Enver Dugolli. The visit also included a meeting with the Mayor of Lipjan, Mr. Imri Ahmeti, and a visit to the Croatian community in the village of Janjeva, emphasizing the friendly relations between the two countries.
The leaders of the institutions expressed their gratitude to Mr. Vukić for his contribution to Kosovo’s process of becoming an observer member of the European Data Protection Board (EDPB). They also highly appreciated Commissioner Sogojeva Dërmaku’s efforts in ensuring Kosovo’s active participation in international mechanisms that promote advanced standards for personal data protection.
The Commissioner thanked Mr. Vukić for his decisive support in Kosovo’s membership as an observer in the EDPB, calling it a recognition of the ongoing efforts of the Agency for Personal Data Protection (AIP) to harmonize legal regulations with European Union directives and fulfill international obligations. Director Vukić highlighted his readiness to further support the Agency in developing and implementing policies in line with the best European practices in the field of personal data protection.
The support of international partners, such as Mr. Vukić, is a catalyst for further progress toward aligning with European standards and integrating into international mechanisms. This visit demonstrates the Agency’s commitment to being an active partner in the field of personal data protection.
