The Board for Data Protection Officers in Municipalities is established

The Agency for Information and Privacy, in cooperation with the Association of Municipalities of Kosovo, have organized a joint meeting with the Municipal Officials for the Protection of Personal Data, in which case the Board for Data Protection Officers has been constituted.

In this meeting, the General Director of AIP, Lumnije Demi, and the Executive Director of AKK, Sazan Ibrahimi, delivered the opening remarks. Municipal officials had the opportunity to discuss the challenges and obstacles they face while ensuring the protection of personal data in accordance with the relevant legislation.

The leadership of the newly formed Board consists of Mr. Besnik Smakaj from Skenderaj Municipality as Chairman, Mrs. Vlora Tafili from the Municipality of Klina as Deputy Chairperson, and the members Mr. Burim Elezi (Gjilan), Mrs. Habibe Bytyçi (Suhareke), Mr. Ibrahim Hajdari (Drenas), Mr. Asdren Peci (North Mitrovica), and Mr. Sava Simic (Novoberdë).

In this meeting, the Work Regulations of the Board of Data Protection Officers were approved and the draft of the Annual Work Plan was oriented.

Also, the Data Protection Manual for Municipalities was presented by the local expert Mr. Ardian Kryeziu, who will help municipalities in their activities in this sector.
