The Agency for Information and Privacy, in collaboration with the Association of Municipalities of Kosovo and with support from the Group for Legal and Political Studies under the “JUST React” project, on October 24 presented the Guide for the Protection of Personal Data in Municipalities, with the participation of the collegium of officials for the protection of personal data in municipalities.
The Commissioner of AIP, Krenare Sogojeva Dermaku, stated that the protection of personal data in municipalities is of particular importance for citizens, considering the nature of the personal data that is collected, stored, and processed in the municipalities of Kosovo. Commissioner Sogojeva Dermaku emphasized that the Guide for the Protection of Personal Data in Municipalities offers the possibility of drafting policies and sub-legal acts in municipalities aimed at protecting citizens’ personal data.
Sazan Ibrahimi, Director of the Association of Kosovo, said that the municipalities of Kosovo need support in enhancing the professional capacities of officials responsible for personal data protection in order to fulfill legal obligations in this area. He also thanked AIP for its cooperation and support provided to the municipalities.
The Guide for the Protection of Personal Data was presented by the engaged expert from AIP, Mr. Drin Grazhdani, and was made possible by the support of the Group for Legal and Political Studies within the “JUST React” project, funded by the EU Office in Kosovo.
