Republic of Kosovo becomes a member of the Steering Committee of the European Network for Transparency and Access to Information (ENTRI)

25 June 2025, Pristina — The Information and Privacy Agency (IPA) of the Republic of Kosovo has been elected as a member of the Steering Committee of the European Network for Transparency and Access to Information (ENTRI) during the International Conference of Information Commissioners (ICIC), held on 24 June 2025 in Berlin.
The ENTRI Network was established following an initial introductory meeting with the participation of all European states, where the IPA, through Commissioner Krenare Sogojeva-Dermaku, expressed its interest in becoming an active part of this Network by candidating for the Steering Committee. In the second session of the Conference, the ICIC member states unanimously elected Kosovo, Portugal, Spain, France, and Scotland as members of the Steering Committee, while Germany was elected to chair the Network.
This development marks an important achievement in advancing the international position of the Republic of Kosovo in the field of transparency and the right of access to public documents.
The European Network for Transparency and Access to Information (ENTRI) was established as a platform for cooperation between European institutions that protect and promote the right of access to public information. The Steering Committee is mandated to coordinate the activities of the Network, support the preparation and adoption of Assembly resolutions, manage membership processes, and perform other governing and administrative functions.
Through this new engagement, the Information and Privacy Agency aims to contribute to promoting transparency in governance, exchanging good practices, and strengthening international cooperation in the field of access to public documents at the European level.
As part of its ongoing efforts for international cooperation, the IPA continues to play an active role as Coordinator of the International Information Working Group (IIWG), which includes more than ten member states from around the world, during which, in the closed sessions of the Conference, IPA representatives presented the achievements of this working group so far. This engagement further reinforces the commitment of the Republic of Kosovo to uphold and advance international standards of transparency and accountability.
