The Commissioner for Information and Privacy, Ms. Krenare Sogojeva Dërmaku, participated in the plenary meeting of the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) held in Brussels, where the EDPB adopted a statement on age assurance and decided to establish a task force for the enforcement of regulations on Artificial Intelligence (AI). Additionally, the Board adopted recommendations on the 2027 World Anti-Doping Code of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
As part of the discussions, the EDPB reaffirmed its cooperation with the European Commission on age verification in the context of the Digital Services Act (DSA) and decided to expand the scope of the ChatGPT working group, integrating it into the broader framework of AI regulation enforcement.
The EDPB is the primary body of the European Union responsible for overseeing and coordinating the implementation of the highest standards of personal data protection. Thus, Kosovo’s membership as an observer in the EDPB enables the strengthening of data protection capacities, the harmonization of national legislation with European standards, and the creation of cooperation networks with counterpart authorities within the European Union.
