The Commissioner for Information and Privacy, Krenare Sogojeva Dermaku and the Director of the Department for the Protection of Personal Data, Valon Kryeziu, as panelists, discussed the implementation of the law for the protection of personal data in the financial sector and the challenges that digitization brings. Accordingly, it was emphasized that with the growth of online banking services, banks should strengthen security measures and be more transparent in protecting customer data.
In the panel moderated by Ms. Edita Musliu – Personal Data Protection Officer at Raiffaisen Bank, speakers were also Mr. Daniel Ilias, Mr. Semjon Lorber and Mr. Jarmo Helppinkangas, to present the best practices for requesting personal data protection policies.
The Commissioner, in particular, appealed to the participants about the importance of close cooperation between banks and the Agency, in order to ensure the protection of citizens’ privacy in an increasingly digitized world.
