Kosovo’s Representation at an International Panel on Access to Information: Challenges and Successes

The Commissioner for Information and Privacy, Ms. Krenare Sogojeva-Dermaku, represented Kosovo in an international panel held within the framework of the International Conference of Information Commissioners (ICIC) 🌍, one of the most significant global events dedicated to the right of access to information.
The panel took place during the conference’s plenary session and was entitled: “Sharing the Challenges and Success Stories on Access to Information”. In this discussion, the Commissioner shared Kosovo’s experience in building transparent institutions and safeguarding citizens’ right to information 📄.
🤝 Alongside representatives from Canada, Australia, the Maldives, and Azerbaijan, Commissioner Sogojeva-Dermaku emphasized the importance of sharing experiences and fostering international cooperation to enhance access to information, accountability, and civic participation.
The Information and Privacy Agency (IPA) is a full member of the ICIC and also serves as coordinator of the Working Group on Information Integrity — one of the three working groups that form the preparatory team of this conference. IPA’s active participation highlights its ongoing commitment to promoting transparency and strengthening open governance standards both nationally and internationally 🔍.
