The Commissioner for Information and Privacy, Ms. Krenare Sogojeva Dërmaku, participated on 29 November in the conference “Digital Transformation and Human Rights,” organised by the Institute for Technology and Society (ITS). This conference brought together professionals, academics and activists from various fields to discuss the future of digital rights and the right to privacy in an increasingly digitalised era.
During the conference, Commissioner Sogojeva Dërmaku discussed the challenges and opportunities that the digital transformation presents for the protection of personal data and human rights, and the need to create a safe digital environment, alongside other speakers, such as Dr. Luljeta Plakolli-Kasumi, professor at the University of Prishtina, Kushtrim Canolli, coordinator at the Office of the Prime Minister, Visar Prebreza, editor-in-chief at BIRN, and Filloreta Bytyçi, project manager at CDF.
Also presented at this conference were three research papers by Drinas Zeqiraj, Donika Çeta and Atdhe Lila, who presented concrete proposals for improving human rights in the face of digital transformation.
