Commissioner for Information and Privacy, Krenare Sogojeva-Dërmaku, panelist at the Conference “Unmasking Corruption: Transparency, Responsibility and Justice”

With the theme “Between Law and Practice; How do the institutions stand against corruption?”, on October 25, 2024, the Commissioner for Information and Privacy, Mrs. Proud Sogojeva-Dërmaku, as a panelist, discussed transparency and institutional accountability through access to public documents as two of the basic principles in the fight against corruption. With particular emphasis, she said that guaranteeing the right to access public documents promotes an open and well-informed society and strengthens trust between citizens and public institutions.
The panel was also attended by Mr. Yll Buleshkaj- Director of the Agency for Prevention of Corruption, and Mr. Naim Qelaj – the People’s Advocate of the Republic of Kosovo, who discussed the role, challenges and advantages of the institutions they lead in the fight against corruption and the protection of citizens’ rights.
The conference was organized by NGO Aktiv and NGO ACDC in support of the American Embassy within the International Bureau for Narcotics and Rule of Law of the USA.
