After 25 years, the Commander of the British troops who first entered Kosovo, General Paul Gibson visits his former office at the Information and Privacy Agency.

The Commissioner for Information and Privacy, Krenare Sogojeva-Dermaku, had the honor of welcoming General Paul Gibson, now Director of the Security in Complex Environment Group (SCEG), to the meeting.
General Paul Gibson, former commanding officer of the 1st Battalion of the Parachute Regiment, was among the first British troops to enter Kosovo on 13 June 1999. Leading the 1st Parachute Battalion during the Kosovo war, he played a role key in overseeing the deployment of British troops in Kosovo as part of the NATO peacekeeping force. For his outstanding service, Mr. Gibson was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (DSO).
After 25 years, General Gibson visited his former office, which now serves as the office of the Information and Privacy Agency, where he shared some of his history and experiences from his time there in 1999. “The role of General Gibson and the British troops has been decisive for the stability and peace we enjoy today,” said the Commissioner, while thanking him for his invaluable contribution, emphasizing that his efforts have resulted in the creation of a safe and stable environment in Kosovo .
