IPA deepens European cooperation within the framework of the KosovaPAR2025 Conference: Artificial Intelligence and Personal Data Protection in Public Administration

On September 4, 2025, the Commissioner for Information and Privacy, Ms. Krenare Sogojeva-Dërmaku, welcomed Mr. Zdravko Vukić, Deputy Chair of the European Data Protection Board and Director of the Croatian Personal Data Protection Authority. The visit was held in the context of inter-institutional cooperation and concluded with participation in a panel organized as part of the KosovaPAR2025 conference, under the theme:

“The Risks of Artificial Intelligence: Legal Perspectives and Data Protection”

Key topics of discussion:

Privacy as a matter of trust for the long-term sustainability of public and private institutions.

Balancing innovation and compliance

The benefits of AI for society and the economy when implemented with fairness, inclusiveness, and respect for fundamental human rights.

A coordinated inter-institutional approach to addressing the challenges posed by artificial intelligence in public administration and building a sustainable culture of data protection.

Moderated by Commissioner Sogojeva-Dërmaku, panelists included:

This visit and panel participation reaffirm the commitment of the Information and Privacy Agency (IPA) to be an active part of European networks and to contribute to advancing data protection mechanisms, including assessing the impact of artificial intelligence across sectors in the Republic of Kosovo.
