The Information and Privacy Agency Hosts 14 Countries to Promote Freedom of Information in the Republic of Kosovo

Under the patronage of the Information and Privacy Agency, the International Workshop on Freedom of Information has commenced for the first time in Kosovo. This event brings together experts and representatives from Authorities for Access to Public Documents and Personal Data Protection from the United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Portugal, Spain, Scotland, the European Ombudsman’s Office, Croatia, Hungary, Slovenia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Albania. Participants will exchange experiences and best practices, with a focus on the importance of transparency in public spending, public procurement, business secrets, and intellectual property matters.��The two-day workshop aims to enhance the capacities of institutions in Kosovo, as well as international and regional entities, in ensuring more open and efficient access to information, while also improving and strengthening mechanisms for the protection of personal data. The International Workshop on Freedom of Information represents a historic event for the promotion of information freedom in Kosovo, providing a platform for the exchange of international best practices and experiences. This will contribute to strengthening transparency and accountability within Public Institutions in the Republic of Kosovo.
