The Agency for Information and Privacy (IPA) presents the Guidelines for Communication with Citizens During the Electoral Campaign and requests Political Parties to Protect Personal Data

The Agency for Information and Privacy (IPA), in collaboration with the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and the International Republican Institute (IRI), organized a meeting with representatives of political parties in Kosovo to raise awareness about the protection of citizens’ personal data during the electoral campaign.
The meeting focused on the methods of communication between political parties and citizens, ensuring that such communication complies with legal obligations for the protection of personal data and that security measures are taken to prevent possible misuse of citizens’ personal data during the electoral campaign.
During the meeting with political party representatives, the Agency for Information and Privacy presented the Guide for Communication with Citizens During the Electoral Campaign, with the aim of informing political entities about the criteria for communication with citizens for promotional or electoral campaign purposes, without violating Law No. 06/L-082 on the Protection of Personal Data.
The Agency for Information and Privacy will continue to monitor and ensure that all political parties comply with legal standards for the protection of personal data throughout the electoral process.
