Newly Appointed Judges Visit the Information and Privacy Agency

The Information and Privacy Agency, in cooperation with the Academy of Justice, welcomed a group of newly appointed judges as part of the initial program for young judges and prosecutors.

The Commissioner of the Agency for Information and Privacy, Mrs. Krenare Sogojeva-Dërmaku, together with the Agency’s inspectors, offered a comprehensive presentation on the Agency’s main functions, challenges and responsibilities in the protection of personal data. The discussion focused on the basic principles of the Law on the Protection of Personal Data, the rights of data subjects, and in particular on the importance of the correct application of the Law in the context of judicial decisions and the collection of evidence, thus ensuring the protection of privacy of citizens during court proceedings.

Commissioner Sogojeva-Dërmaku expressed the willingness of the Agency to provide advice and help in the implementation of the Law through a continuous and fruitful cooperation with the judicial system.
