The Commissioner for Information and Privacy, Krenare Sogojeva-Dërmaku, hosted today a joint meeting with representatives of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), with the aim of strengthening the cooperation of IPA and NGOs, for the promotion of the right to the protection of personal data of citizens.
During the meeting, the challenges in the field of personal data protection and the need to raise the awareness of public and private institutions for the undertaking of organizational measures for the protection of personal data were discussed. With a special focus, the Commissioner discussed with the representatives of Non-Governmental organizations the possibilities of cooperation for the protection of personal data from public institutions, namely Public Companies that provide services to citizens.
This joint commitment aims at a wider involvement of actors and a more effective implementation of the Law on Personal Data Protection. Representatives of Kosovo Law Institute, Institute for Development Policy (INDEP), Democracy Plus, Civikos Platform, Kosovo Initiative for Stability – IKS and FOL Movement.
