Memorandum of Cooperation between the Agency for Information and Privacy and the Association of Municipalities of Kosovo

The Commissioner of the Information and Privacy Agency, Krenare Sogojeva Dermaku, and the President of the Association of Kosovo Municipalities, Sazan Ibrahimi, have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation to coordinate joint activities in the field of personal data protection and access to public documents. This memorandum aims to harmonize the preparation of security policies by the Municipalities, and their implementation in practice, during the process of processing personal data, in the case of providing relevant services to citizens.

The signing of this Memorandum will enable close cooperation in the development of the transparency of the Municipalities, with special emphasis on the proactive publication of public documents as well as guaranteeing the right to access public documents.

The Commissioner for Information and Privacy, Krenare Sogojeva-Dërmaku, thanked the Executive Director of AKK, Sazan Ibrahimi, and expressed the readiness for successful cooperation between the two institutions for strengthening transparency and accountability in the municipalities of Kosovo and the protection of citizens’ personal data.
