The Information and Privacy Agency continues its activities to mark the International Day of Personal Data Protection with an informative meeting with representatives of businesses registered in the Kosovo Chamber of Commerce.
The Commissioner, Ms. Krenare Sogojeva Dermaku discussed the legal obligations for the protection of personal data from private businesses in various sectors, including gastronomy, insurance companies, crafts and construction. In particular, issues such as the appointment and training of the personal data protection officer and the drafting of Privacy Policies and an internal regulation defining the manner of processing citizens’ data by these businesses were addressed.
The participants showed their problems and challenges during the implementation of the legal criteria defined by the legislation in force, for which the Commissioner encouraged them to become more demanding of their rights, in order to jointly create better standards and practices for protection of citizens’ data.
